Truth ...

It's funny. As life passes me by, it becomes more and more apparent of how important truth is. Truth has this ability of being mind-blowing yet shattering. It couldn't be more important yet sometimes it's the last thing we want to comprehend.

I'm about to share a truth.

Living in Asia tends to have an ability of keeping me out of tune with what many would consider 'the real world'. I've been following American Idol for the past few years. Yes, I know ...

There are many things I like about the show and I feel like it keeps me a bit in the know with what goes on on the other side. I'm not sure it sets the best example of life over there, but it's something that brings a little of what I'm used to into life over here.

A few days behind due to waiting for torrents and downloading time, I found myself in tears tonight watching an episode of 'Idol Gives Back'. I don't know much more information than what the program offers but they have some footage of Africa that just breaks my heart. After conquering a three month journey of India, Africa has been in the back of my mind.

As I glance up at the map above me, I can see that India is so small in comparison. Three months wouldn't begin to touch on the experiences that place has to offer .... years, perhaps ...

I have many hurdles to jump in the process but I continue to move forward ... daring to dream ... knowing that everything IS possible in this thing we call life ...

Oops ... this article was in today's newspaper. I had to post it as it brought a chuckle to my day!

Monday was spent mostly in a haze going through the motions of doing what needed to be done. My private student canceled class last night which was fine by me. My heart felt heavy and I found myself retiring much too early for the night. I guess I was tired.

Eleven and a half hours later brought me to 8:30am. I was awoken by a mobile message from my Tuesday morning private canceling class. Not sure what's up this week ... I will be thankful for the time as I've been pretty hard at things as of late.

The morning seemed to soar by yet I don't recall doing much. I climbed this afternoon until I could climb no more. My back and nose feel a bit crispy from the hot afternoon sun. My fingers raw from the climbs. I am exhausted and it's unfortunate that it's only 9:00pm. If I were to close my eyes now, I'm sure sleep would come instantly ...

Traditional Indian Thali

The above photo was taken in Madurai, Tamil Nadu. Thalis were often served on banana leaves. All-you-can-eat would cost about 40 rupees, 30nt or CAN$1.00.

This is day three of staring at a blank posting page. I have much to say yet nothing to share. Thought I'd try a little something new using Photoshop. Quite simple to do although next time I will try for a black canvas, if possible.

The sun is starting to poke out now that it's almost time for it to depart. Spending the day in solitude didn't hurt my feelings any.

Anybody can become angry, that is easy ... but to be angry with the right person, and to the right degree, and at the right time, and for the right purpose, and in the right way ... that is not within everybody's power ... that is not easy - Aristotle
