One blank page turned into the four showing here — about eight hours later! Needless to say, I was thrilled with my final product which resulted in useful, practical learning!

| The Route |
On route looking for the trailhead (C) to a place located in Shiding (石碇) called Huangdidian (皇帝殿), we came across a distinct newish looking building overlooking beautiful mountain ranges.

We didn't stay for food, but we did have a look at the unusual art before continuing on the tiny mountain road just behind Loft 17 where we found the West entrance of the trail. It was a challenging hike that offered some fantastic views!

The above image captures complete Cilantro fail.
A bunch of tiny, green (what I assume to be) Beet Army-worms had a total munch out and ate ALL the leaves. I yanked out what was left of the Cilantro and discarded the culprits. Hmpf.
The radishes, on the other hand, are doing very well and I've started thinning out the seedlings; they smell fantastic! Articles on the net claim the seedlings are good to throw in a tossed salad. I will try it out this evening.
In the meantime, those Beet Army-worms best be staying away from my cherry radishes!

The nation was granted four days off to celebrate the Tomb Sweeping holiday. This made for a great excuse to head to the eastern coast of Taiwan. Although the weather was quite wet, the rain didn't stop a couple of us from riding our scooters over three foggy mountain ranges, dropping us into Toucheng where we stationed ourselves for days of shenanigans. Good times, good times!
